PANACAM

PANACAM Lodge It was Beautiful & huge!

Rooms here were between $50-$60 USD/night for single/double and they even offer triples/quadruples at about $70/$80 USD. Unlike typical nature lodges in other countries, meals are NOT included (except for breakfast) in most lodges in Honduras. Breakfast here was pancakes with fruit or Plato Tipico which you can order without meat and cheese if you prefer.  Dinner was a la carte from a regular restaurant type menu.

Room Tip: We stayed in the new Oropendola building, room #6 which was a double.
It’s aptly named for the amazing Chestnut Headed Oropendola Nesting Tree right outside our room!

Brand New!   This building seemed brand new and the room was spacious, comfortable, had plenty of outlets and a hot shower. The wifi worked great and were separate wifi access points throughout the property so it always worked well. Also appreciated was the large desk, plenty of shelves for unpacking, and new windows that closed well preventing bugs from getting in (large ants still got in as they did in all the lodges).

The dining area had a large outdoor deck with seating – and hummingbird feeders! We saw at least 4 different species come in to drink, the most prevalent (and aggressive) being the Rufous-tailed Hummingbird.

The Tower was one of the coolest parts of the lodge, with large platforms to stay and birdwatch at all different levels of the tower – making it possible to see birds in various parts of the canopy!
