Pousada Porto Jofre: Perfect Spot to stay along the River
Approimately 4 hours from Cuiabá, we stayed here for 4 nights at the start of our river tour.
Our Personal Experience
Pros
- Great food (buffet style) with dessert (Dinner 730pm, Breakfast 5:30/6am) All meals are included in the stay.
- Wifi **but almost non existent during dinner time when a lot of people are on it.
- Airconditioned rooms (that you control temp)
- Not buggy/mosquitos inside the room
- You are RIGHT ON THE RIVER. No need to drive – just walk a few feet to the boat.
- Great Birdlife all around the lodge
Cons
- The Wifi is extremely slow/useless when other people are on it and the Pantanal area has no cell service. Works well “off hours”.
- Some minor repairs were needed in the rooms
- Shower water was not hot – just lukewarm.
Unlike some other remote places in the world, electricity is pretty consistent here, so you will be able to charge in your rooms all evening if you like. We never lost power there.
TIP: Best time to use the WIFI is before 5:30am or after 9pm
